On the initiative of Yves Kulondwa, caricaturist at Congolese newspaper Le Souverain and his journalist colleague Christian Kika Kitungano, both currently participating in a specialisation work placement at IHECS (thanks to ARES funding), a tribute to Solange Lusiku and her struggle was organised on the anniversary of her death, which occurred one year ago.

Having visited the Faculty of Journalism at the University of MOSCOW LOMONOSOV and the Faculty of Communication of the MOLDAVIAN STATE UNIVERSITY, our two photography professors, Laurent Poma and Thierry Maroit, continued their photojournalism workshop project on "Being 20 in…" at the UNIVERSIDAD SAN IGNACIO de LOYOLA in Lima, Peru, with the collaboration of Professor Renato MEZA.
Around sixty international students have chosen IHECS as the host for their exchange visit. Students from Denmark, the UK, Portugal, Flanders in Belgium, South Korea and Ecuador will have the opportunity to follow our programme in English, while Canadians, Parisians and some other Europeans can enrol in a selection of courses delivered in French. All of these exchanges have been made possible thanks to the hundreds of interinstitutional agreements that IHECS has signed with various universities.
For those who have forgotten, coLABis a collaboration between five European institutions of higher education. The project was conceived as a result of the recognition that many refugees arrive with substantial work experience and qualifications. Unfortunately, their achievements are generally not recognised by their host countries. Refugees have an unemployment rate above the national average and are often overqualified for the positions in which they are employed.
Pour ceux qui l'aurait oublié, coLAB est une collaboration entre cinq établissements d’enseignement supérieur européens. Le projet est né du constat que de nombreux réfugiés arrivent avec une expérience professionnelle et des qualifications substantielles. Malheureusement, leurs acquis ne sont généralement pas reconnus par leurs pays d’accueil.
Il y a quelques semaines, Thierry Maroit et Laurent Poma, professeurs à l’IHECS, étaient à Lima dans le cadre d’un workshop en photojournalisme pour des étudiants l’Université San Ignacio de Loyola. L’occasion pour ces chasseurs d’images d’observer un phénomène très particulier:
Une soixantaine d’étudiants internationaux ont choisi l’IHECS pour effectuer leur séjour d’échange. Les Danois, Anglais, Portugais, Belges de Flandres, Coréens ou Equatoriens auront l’occasion de suivre notre programme en anglais tandis que les Canadiens, Parisiens et quelques autres Européens s’inscrivent dans une sélection de cours en français. Tous ces échanges ont pu être possibles grâce à la centaine d’accords interinstitutionnels que l'IHECS a signés avec les différentes universités.
Tous les trois ans, la communauté internationale de formation en journalisme se réunit pour partager ses meilleures pratiques en matière d’enseignement et entendre des communications relatives à la recherche dans le domaine de la formation en journalisme.
IAME est l’Association Internationale d’Éducation aux Médias fondée par 8 grands acteurs d’éducation aux médias européens, dont l'IHECS. Son objectif est de promouvoir l’éducation aux médias à un niveau international. L’association offre un espace pour ses membres afin qu’ils partagent leurs ressources et expériences, qu’ils puissent collaborer, créer de nouveaux partenariats, etc.
