In order to complete this thesis, Anne Van Marsenille has drawn from her students and other IHECS language professors so as to gather the maximum amount of data possible. The purpose of the research is to explore the various language learning methods used by students outside of the classroom setting.
As part of their Erasmus programme, the IHECS professors pictured (Emmanuelle Byvoet, Patricia Bouteiller, Laetitia Paillé and Laurent Poma) visited this renowned festival and found five IHECSians on site. Among them was Paul Hanot, a Master's 2 student in news media who was able to benefit from the trip by immersing in the professional environment for a few days. Together they attended the exhibitions and conferences (especially on the subject of the status of female " photojournalists ") and discovered captivating reports produced by photojournalists from all over the world.
Dans le cadre de leur formation Erasmus, les professeurs photo de l’IHECS (Emmanuelle Byvoet, Patricia Bouteiller, Laetitia Paillé et Laurent Poma) ont visité ce festival de renom et retrouvé 5 Ihecsiens sur place. Parmi eux, Paul Hanot, un étudiant de Master 2 en presse info, qui a pu profiter du voyage pour s’immerger dans le milieu professionnel en l’espace de quelques jours.
Some are here for six months, others for a whole year, from Europe (Erasmus), Belgium (Erasmus Belgica) or other continents, and they have set their hearts on IHECS to begin their exchange programme in English or French. 56 of them took part in the Integration Week held from 31 August to 4 September. The programme includes tours, gastronomy, culture and history, all with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Certains sont là pour 6 mois, d’autres pour une année entière, originaires d’Europe (Erasmus), de notre plat pays (Erasmus Belgica) ou d’autres continents, c’est sur l’Ihecs qu’ils ont jeté leur dévolu pour entamer leur programme d’échange en anglais ou en français. Ils étaient 56 à participer à l'Integration week organisée du 31 août au 4 septembre. Au programme: visites, gastronomie, culture, histoire, le tout dans la convivialité et la bonne humeur.
Invited to represent the Institute for Higher Social Communication Studies (IHECS) at the Global Week of Chitkara University, Anne Van Marsenille Patrick Willemarck, Berdien Schepers and Jerry Vandevelde were welcomed warmly, along with a score of international lecturers.
On the programme: one week combining intensive courses, visits and discoveries of all kinds at this important private university (about 10,000 students) located in northern India.
