New international responsibilities for our Rector, Frédéric Moens

08.09.2022
During the meeting of the ARES Development Cooperation Commission on 27 June, Frédéric Moens was appointed academic coordinator of the Institutional Support programme between Belgium and the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University of Ouagadougou.

Among the development tools implemented by the Development Cooperation Commission, the Institutional Support programme aims to support the institutional strengthening of partner establishments in the South. Indeed, a reconnaissance mission undertaken last January in Ouagadougou made it possible to define five themes which will have to be made operational during a subsequent formulation mission led by the new academic coordinator. The themes are compatible with the strategic priorities of the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University:

  • Improvement in research quality and visibility
  • Improvement in quality of doctorates
  • Establishment of a pedagogical teaching programme for young teachers (certifying common programme for the universities of Benin, Niger and Burkina Faso)
  • Improvement in the managerial performance of the central administration, research and teaching entities
  • Continued digitisation of study management

This designation demonstrates once again the importance that IHECS attaches to cooperation with countries in the South and the interest taken by our institution in the whole of Africa.
