Alix Mayence, winner of the print journalism prize at the Belgodyssée

18.01.2023
Alix Mayence (Journalism 2023) won the print journalism prize at the 18th edition of the Belgodyssée on 13th December 2022, in the presence of His Majesty, King Philippe.

After two years marked by Covid-19, the ceremony was once again able to be held in person at the Royal Palace. This new edition focused on the theme of "the energy of tomorrow". The young journalists spent two intensive months producing several reports on this topic, a unique experience for aspiring journalists who were able to work in the largest newsrooms in the country.

The French-speaking winner of the print journalism prize is Alix Mayence, a second-year Journalism Master’s student. With her partner, Margot Lannoo, they considered "energy communities and the sharing of energy between neighbours".

By winning this prize, Alix will be able to complete a one-month paid internship with the editorial staff of L’Avenir.

The big winners of this 18th edition are Léa Defour and Fien Engelen, who won a 6-month paid internship in the "info" department at RTBF and VRT.

The radio prizes were won by Ilo Leroy, representing Dutch speakers, and Léa Defour, representing French speakers.

The collaboration prizes were won by Margot Devloo, representing Dutch speakers, and Pauline Bienfait, representing French speakers.

Finally, to conclude this 18th edition of the Belgodyssée, Ilo Leroy and Léa Defour were rewarded a second time with the social media prize

We would like to congratulate all the participants in the Belgodyssée. Indeed, even taking part in this competition already means that you are recognised as being among the best journalism students in the country.
