Become an Erasmus student's buddy for the second semester!
To help them discover Brussels and Belgian culture as well as possible, and to immerse themselves in the Brussels student world, the International Office is accepting applications from IHECS students who wish to accompany an Erasmus student throughout their stay.
What does it involve?
Specifically, a buddy has several roles. They are generally one of the first people the Erasmus student will encounter upon arriving in Belgium.
The student will ideally be present to welcome them upon their arrival in Brussels, answer their practical questions, and offer support regarding the IHECS system (the various platforms, equipment rental and booking of facilities, etc.).
The buddy is also there to help them integrate into student life in Brussels.
A winning combination, from every point of view.
Thanks to their buddy, Erasmus students will be able to approach their stay at IHECS with greater peace of mind and will have a point of contact throughout the semester.
The buddy will be able to develop his or her intercultural skills, share his or her network, and proudly represent IHECS and Brussels.
For both, it will be a wonderful opportunity to develop and strengthen friendships.
A little taste of Erasmus?
If you've already participated on the Erasmus programme, you've undoubtedly experienced that typical feeling of nostalgia upon your return. Being a buddy is an opportunity for you to retain the Erasmus spirit while meeting new people of all nationalities.
If, on the other hand, you haven't yet gone on an Erasmus exchange but are planning to, this will allow you to immerse yourself in intercultural interaction and gain a clearer idea of all the positive aspects of such an exchange.
Did you know?
If you're going to meet your Erasmus buddy at the airport or train station upon their arrival in Belgium, the International Exchanges Office will reimburse your round-trip train or bus ticket!
Convinced? Fill out the form by 27th January 2025.
