Institutional framework of mobility

It is within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme that the Commission supports mobility within the 30 or so participating countries.

The Agence nationale belge francophone (AEF) centralises funding for Erasmus+, Belgica and FAME mobility. IHECS manages, in accordance with the rules laid down by the Commission and the AEF, all mobility of its students, teachers and staff members.

IHECS, via Haute Ecole Galilée, upholds the Erasmus+ Charter 2021-2027, which represents a recognition, but also a commitment to respect the fundamental principles of Erasmus mobility:

  • mobility can only take place within the framework of agreemenrs previously concluded between higher education institutions;
  • participating students pay their registration fees to their home institution and are exempt from these fees at the host institution;
  • the courses included in the study contracts and successfully completed by the students are the subject of full academic recognition.

IHECS is also committed to:

  • ensure a very high level of quality especially in the implementation of mobility;
  • ensure equal academic treatment between local students and students taking advantage of mobility;
  • respect the objectives of non-discrimination.

Academic recognition and ECTS

As part of the Erasmus+ programme, academic recognition is guaranteed via the ECTS system (European Credit Transfer System). By complying with the Erasmus+ University Charter, IHECS is committed to managing mobility in accordance with the ECTS methodology.

This commitment results in a flow of a series of rights and obligations on the part of students.
