Launch of the "intersection" project

09.02.2023
On Tuesday, 7th February, the launch party for the major "intersection" project bringing together students from the Masters in Public Relations, Sociocultural Activities and Lifelong Learning, and Media Literacy was held at Velge.

Training, a competition, and a meeting of the departments

Alexia Baum (Academic Manager of the Public Relations (PR) Department), Barbara Dupont (Academic Manager of the Sociocultural Activities and Lifelong Learning (SALL) Department) and Emmanuel Wathelet (President of the Media Literacy (ML) Department) collaborated to achieve a common goal: to create the conditions conducive to meeting students of their respective Master’s programmes through learning public speaking.

While learning the techniques of public speaking (in the form of a course for PR students, and three training blocks for students from the SALL and ML Departments), student pairs will form to compete in the grand final of a public speaking competition to be held at IHECS on 2nd May 2023. The coordination of a large-scale project featuring the departments at IHECS is a goal long pursued and finally achieved!

The evening of 7th February

On Tuesday evening, the project was presented by the teachers, accompanied by Monia Gandibleux, Coordinator of Ambassadeurs d'expression citoyenne, and Clémentine Quévy, Project Manager for the Réciproque association, who will supervise the training. In front of a full Velge audience, the documentary film "À voix haute" was shown and the first workshops mixing students from the various departments were organised.

The enthusiasm displayed by the students at the end of the evening was palpable, and served to remind us that even though a lot of communication takes place digitally, conveyed through images and in writing, our first medium is the voice. Learning to use it, both literally and metaphorically, lies at the heart of the project of a school like ours.
