IHECS represented in the "Young Francophone Belgian Talent" category of the 60th edition of the Belfius Press Prize

26.05.2023
On Thursday 25 May, the awards ceremony for the 60th edition of the Belfius Press Prize took place. Among the nominees in the "Young Francophone Belgian Talent" category, a group from IHECS and one alumnus!

To mark this 60th edition and give a boost to the new generation, the Press prizes were, for the very first time, also open to journalism students, who could compete for the award of the new "Young Belgian Talent" Prize which is intended to reward the best productions by journalists under the age of 30.

And no less than 74 "Young Talents" applied for this new category. Among these numerous projects, three caught the jury’s attention: "Sexualité Sous Surveillance", ("Sexuality Under Surveillance"), a media report by former Journalism students Sarah Duchêne, Élise Leloup, Lisa Guilmot, Céline Therer and Paul-Louis Godier,  "Le tueur du Cross", ("The Cross Killer"), by Lea Defour (UCLouvain) and "Entreprenante Jeunesse", ("Enterprising Youth"), by François Bouyerie (IHECS PI 2018), Louise Tessier (UClouvain) and Aurian Schoune (Aurian Schoune Vidéo).

Congratulations to the big winner "Entreprenante Jeunesse", which won the 2022 Prize in the Young Belgian Francophone Talent category and more particularly to François Bouyerie, Alumnus of the Journalism department.

We would also like to congratulate the team behind "Sexualité Sous Surveillance" for being among the three nominees for this prestigious Press Prize.
