Trilingual, Sophie Wilmès lives in Rhode-Saint-Genèse where she is currently council leader. Elected to the Chamber a little more than a year ago, this school alumna also has a degree in financial management (Institut Supérieur de Commerce Saint-Louis).

Financial manager at the European Commission until 2007, she chairs the Budget and Finances Commission.

Olivier Chastel, President of the MR : "Sophie Wilmès is a dynamic young woman, hard-working and respected by everyone. Her CV and financial skills made the case for her. She will bring all her energy and skills to the federal government to ensure that it sticks to its budget, create jobs, and protect the future of our social security."
