Véronique Salvi succeeds Jean-François Raskin as General Manager of IHECS

16.09.2024
On Monday, 16th September, IHECS welcomed a new General Manager. After more than 30 years in the position, Jean-François Raskin has stepped down as General Manager in favour of Véronique Salvi.

The arrival of Véronique Salvi as General Manager on Monday, 16th September, heralds a new era for IHECS. With over 20 years of political engagement, she has distinguished herself in positions of responsibility as a federal, Walloon, and Wallonia-Brussels Federation MP. Her political career, marked by strategic roles, notably as an alderman in Charleroi and parliamentary group president, showcases her ability to manage complex issues and to lead and collaborate with her teams.

Having elected to leave politics in 2019, Véronique has redirected her career towards higher education. Since May 2020, she has held the position of Project Manager for Strategic Development at UCLouvain in Hainaut and at HELHa, where she has achieved numerous successes.

Her relationship with IHECS is also well established. Véronique joined IHECS in 2021 as a professor of political communication within the Master's programme in Public Relations. This gave her the opportunity to gradually improve her understanding of our institution and the challenges faced by IHECS on a daily basis.

Her expertise in strategic and human resources management, as well as her passion for higher education and the media, are major assets for IHECS, which positions itself as a key player in the training of future communications and journalism professionals. Her commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer will enable her to guide the institution towards fresh challenges while remaining faithful to its core mission.

Véronique Salvi succeeds Jean-François Raskin, who has created a legacy with IHECS through his leadership and in-depth knowledge of the political and media worlds. After more than 30 years steering the institution, he will continue to make active contributions to the school, notably as a professor and by overseeing a number of strategic projects, including the institution's upcoming relocation. We will return to the highlights of Jean-François's IHECS career later, but we extend our warmest thanks in advance for these 30 years at the helm of our institution.

Under this new leadership, IHECS intends to continue responding to rapid changes in the sector while continuing to position itself as a leading academic institution.

The IHECS community wishes Véronique every success in this new role.
