UNICEF Belgium Young Journalist Award

Of the seven candidates selected for the second round of the competition, five were students in Press and Information at the IHECS!

It wasn't easy for the jury of the RTL INFO-UNICEF competition. The candidates – all Master's students in Journalism –  had a particularly high level of technique and motivation.  After much deliberation, the Jury of communication professionals and members of the humanitarian sector selected 7 candidates to advance to the second round:

  • Loïs DENIS – IHECS
  • Tom DENIS – EJL
  • Rodrigue JAMIN – IHECS
  • Rodrigue JAMIN – IHECS
  • Cyrielle MINCIER – EJL
  • Maud PIQUE – IHECS

They now have one month to create a documentary on child rights in Belgium,  which they will present on 18 November before the Final Jury.  The top 5 documentaries will be broadcasted on 20 November, Universal Children's Day, on RTLINFO.be and UNICEF.be.

The prize ?

The creator of the best production will have the opportunity to travel on assignment for UNICEF to cover its child rights initiatives. The winner will be coached on site by a major reporter from the RTL and will be able to stage its topic in the RTL facilities. One of RTLINFO's end-of-the-year topics will be assigned to the winner.
